About Coqui- the word "coqui" means little frog. In their native Puerto Rico, Coqui climb trees in the evening. From dusk to dawn, the male coqui "sings". Islanders love their coqui so much, they compose songs and poems about them.

Here at my coqui, I try very hard to make unique, yet practical, affordable items. Everyone should be able to have something pretty now and then; for themselves, for their home, or, to give as a gift. I also believe that something should be one of a kind. I work with a mix of clays, glazes, silver, and lately, recycled aluminum. My tools are hammers, toothpicks, bamboo skewers, and whatever else I find around the house that might be useful.

Nature does a wonderful job of creating its own art; the colors that spray the sky when the sun comes up or goes down, the veins in leaves, light catching a butterfly's wing, the iridescence of a dragonfly, the colors of frogs after a rain. We humans can only hope to imitate it.
